Description
St. Louis, MIssouri June 30, 1931The 400 Racer airplane in which Major Doolittle hopes to break the world's speed record. The plane crashed in a test flight when the wing structure weakened and Doolittle threw the plane into an inside loop and leaped to safety from 200 feet in a parachute.
