Artist's Description

Accra, Gold Coast June 17, 1943Mallam Isq Katsina (L) and Mallam Bello Kano (R) broadcast to British West Africa from the Gold Coast broadcasting station in Accra. They broadcast regularly in their own language, bringing Africans the latest news and entertainment programs. The Gold Coast became indendent in 1957 and is now known as Ghana.
