Muroc Dry Lake, California c. 1929.Two golfers play the 52 mile course on a dry lake bed in the Mojave Desert. The saline surface is incredibly smooth, with drives often travelling over half a mile, thus the 2.7 miles, par 5 for the 5th hole. It is now the home of Edwards Air Force base.
